Use one checklist for each bicycle. Complete the inspection results and required information, and keep the completed checklist until the event has ended.
- The printed and completed Bicycle Safety Inspection Checklist
- Proof of bicycle insurance valid in Japan
- Front and rear lights are mandatory because daylight hours are short.
- Official Eroica Japan LINE account
2. How to complete E-Check
- A bicycle shop, the rider, or another individual performs the safety inspection.
- Complete the checklist and keep it until the event ends.
- Submit one form response for each bicycle using the application form below.
- Show your ID to collect your race kit. Bicycles may be inspected without prior notice at the venue.
Please ask the bicycle shop directly about availability and inspection fees.
At check-in, you must show the Bicycle Safety Inspection Checklist and proof of insurance. If the required documents are missing, an official on-site inspection is required at JPY 5,000 per bicycle, excluding replacement parts and consumables.
3. SAFE and emergencies
Optional SAFE registration is available through the official Eroica Japan LINE account. In an accident or sudden illness, SAFE can quickly notify event operations of your registered information and current location. When necessary, event operations may provide this information to emergency responders or medical personnel.
Information you can register:
- Name
- Your phone number
- Gender
- Age
- Blood type as reported by you
- Bib number
- The route you will actually ride
Your bib number and route can be changed after check-in. When you press “Send my current location to event operations,” your location at that moment and your SAFE information are sent to event operations. Location is obtained only when you press the button. SAFE does not track you continuously.
SAFE is an emergency information service. It does not provide diagnosis, treatment, first aid, medical judgment, or medical advice, and it cannot guarantee rescue or personal safety. In an emergency, do not wait for SAFE or event operations to respond. Call 119 immediately.
